COSEL AS, a division of Schneider Electric, has expanded its portfolio of automotive industrial control solutions for mid-size robotics controllers and factory automation with the addition of a new robust 4-bay, 12-volt DC-DC Converter Unit (DCU) and new 4- and 8-channel Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) with built-in Apple automation controls. The latest expansion of the COSEL family of electrical products includes four new 12-volt DC-DC Converter Units and eight new 4- and 8-channel Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) with Apple Automation controls.

The company said that its recently launched 12-volt DC-DC Converter Unit incorporates an industrial connector to easily manage industrial grade DC/DC conversion at the highest reliability, efficiency and uptime. Each of the COSEL DCU solutions are designed to help users enable more power with fewer cabling, delivering up to 70% efficiency with intelligent system management software for advanced measurement and accurate power distribution. “The COSEL family of products is available for many automation applications such as autonomous driving, body and crash safety, logistics, warehouse automation and advanced factory automation.

The new additions to the range cover a variety of electrical distribution requirements from single-tier to multiple-tier applications. The expansion provides a number of innovative solutions that help robots and machines operate more reliably,” said David Heuse, director for Sales and Service, COSEL AS. In addition to the COSEL solution, Schneider Electric’s new 12-volt DC-DC Converter Unit and Programmable Logic Controller can be used with other power-management systems including factory PMS, for machines or to manage hybrid electric vehicles. The company added that the PLCs provide many advantages over PLCs that use a PC-based user interface. They include the ability to manage a wider range of parameters and features at the individual sub-step.

They also offer integration to external systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), communications links and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for the management of process flow and batch files. COSEL’s automation controllers and PLCs are designed to meet customer needs from clean room environments through to automation manufacturing environments, industries including the automotive, aerospace, and oil and gas industries.
